Through the history all
sociaties were organised according to some social
conventions, standards and canons which were considered
acceptable, allowed at certain perod.

order to survive imperfect human being
did as much as he could to hold bad
instincts, to inaugurate concept of
useful, to create the sense of diserable
and to channel those acts which could
be unproductive. The results of these
attempts were changeable.On the other
hand, these Sisyphean efforts of the
mankind have left |

a trail, among other things
on frail psyche of an individual, and often on the
whole society. It is very difficult to talk about
common spiritual illnesses because it is not easy
to determine the cause of the breakdown. It is difficult
to be objective, impartial observer and to appraise
a situation. It is easier to talk about individual
illness.

| We must say:
a man can help another man as much as
his own abilities allow him, often it
is very little comparing with comlex
breakdown and its causes that are somewhere
deep in the human soul. However, the
basic principles of humanity and ethics
order us to |

continue our efforts. The
employees of Gerontological center in Novi Becej
have the same principals, they take care of almost
300 mental patients who are put at the psychiatric
ward
|

| The
users of the center live under very difficult living
conditions. They have a lot of unsolved problems-hygiene,
nonadapted rooms are some of problems that must
be solved as soon as it posible. The Center needs
